Florence Fire & Rescue is a career fire department located in the city of Florence, Alabama.  Florence is located on the Tennessee River in Lauderdale County.   Florence Fire operates out of five fire houses located throughout the city.   Our coverage area covers the city limits of Florence providing emergency services to approximately 40 thousand people.  We average around thirty-eight hundred calls per year.  We also provide support to fourteen volunteer fire departments located throughout the county.  We provide fire suppression, technical rescue, fire prevention programs, EMS, Haz-Mat, and many other emergency services to the residents and visitors of Florence. 

Our response to structure fires is a minimum of two engines, one ladder, one rescue, and a battalion chief.  On multi-story or high occupancy buildings an additional ladder is assigned.  We respond an engine to all medical emergencies, assisting NorthStar Paramedic Services.  Response to MVA's with injury are one engine, unless there is a report of entrapment which brings an additional engine and the rescue.  Other technical rescue alarms will be assigned two engines and the rescue.

Minimum staffing on each engine is three.  Each ladder is assigned four.  The rescue is assigned two.  Florence is comprised of four engine companies, one quint, one tower ladder, one rescue, and one battalion chief car.
